Pros

Corporate backing with an independent feel, repeat corporate guests weekly/ often, direct access to ownership, smaller staff leads to close knit group, strong management involvement. .

Cons

Owner independence can sometimes lead to sub par/ inconsistent standards at other properties, not much room as much ease of job movement laterally,

Pros

My direct managers were decent people who were severely limited due to corporate culture

Cons

They will terminate you in a heartbeat if one member complains on you despite your past work history with them. Severely underpaid compared to comparable companies. The medical insurance virtually does not exist, employee and family has to pay full price for dr visits, medication, or anything else until you you have shelled out $3,000. There is very little to no raise despite superior performance and even if you get a promotion!! Training virtually does not exist. Employee meetings are more to discuss hr policies than they are to develop and train you. There is almost zero room for advancement!!! If these things don't matter to you than they might be alright to work for. Most of these reviews on this site for Best Western are from line level employees in the hotels. They actually do not work for the corporate HQ or BOC based in Phoenix. All hotel are independently owned. Therefore don't rely on their review when considering a corporate position.

Pros

Well established. Some really good people. A multitude of different backgrounds and cultures. General sense of a belonging to something without the suck up environment.

Cons

Horrible consistency with direction. If reminds me of the saying "If you don't like the weather wait ten minutes."
