Pros

- Getting to socialize with a broad spectrum of people. - I've been offered different jobs from guests when I move. - I get a lot of free time during Night Audits.

Cons

- The owner does not put herself in our shoes, she tends to be very condescending. - The pay is way too low, $7.60 an hour, I wouldn't be able to survive if I wasn't living with my mom. - There are no benefits, no raises, no real motivation to do better. - We are told that we "MUST" take the BWI training, but they want us to do more than just Front Desk training, yet they don't want to pay us more to learn more. - Employees are constantly quitting or getting fired. - The owner is constantly watching you over the cameras, which can make you feel very uneasy at times. - When you make a mistake or lose a sale, she calls you right away and asks why you lost that person then gives you a lecture. - The shifts are never consistent, I'll work three 9 hours shifts, get two days off, work one 3 and a half hour shift, then the next day come in for a 6 hour shift. - Barely make over 70 hours every two weeks.

Pros

Diversity in guests, experience working in hospitality

Cons

Friends & Family Discount could be better, no breaks even though working 8 hours (and must stand for 8 hours), no O/T pay unless it's more then 10 minutes, expect you to come into work 10 minutes before your shift and not be paid for it, understaffed (you have to work alone at night without any security), meetings are mandatory yet unpaid. Good employees carry the weight of all of the slackers. No reprimand for employees who are consistently late about every shift 10-15 minutes. Co-workers with poor work ethics, and completely unqualified for their positions. Housekeepers are understaffed, underpaid and are criticized when they rack up too much O/T. Management calls me on personal phone when off duty to vent about personal and/or hotel problems and when told I wanted to be paid for that time, management responded by saying it was apart of my job however, I explained that what's apart of my job is when I'm on duty at the hotel. Basically poor management and ownership.
