Do not work here if you want stability in your job or honesty about the future of your program. You will be forced into “redeployment”, a tactic to move employees to other programs that are bringing in more revenue when yours is not. If you decline being forced into a much lower position (a whole post-secondary degree lower) which may include night shifts on weekends and housekeeping, as well as a position where you may not even be doing therapy at all, you will be fired (rather than let go ethically because your program is not profitable).
Leadership has no regard for client care and you and your supervisor will have to “figure it out” when you are fired, and you will essentially have to rip services away from your clients because another program is making more money and that’s where “the critical need is”. If you are still employed, you will live in fear that you will be called any day to be pigeonholed into a lower position or lose your job.
This company is profiting off a global pandemic and transforming hospitals to receive funding from the state to start new programs where they will force you to go to, 30+ miles away from the original site you agreed to work at and exposed to deadly disease. This is a corporation that will do everything in their power to make sure they don’t have to pay you a penny more than they have to, AND make sure you will have difficulty accessing unemployment benefits upon your termination.
If you’re lucky like me, your program director will be narcissistic and patronizing, gaslighting you for any ethical or personal concerns you have although he “welcomes your feedback”. Leadership members like him are solely focused on their own growth in the system and not their assigned programs, employees, and clients within. HR representatives will talk to you as if you are a child and invalidate real concerns about your health and safety.
This company profits and thrives on deception and drama with half thought-out policies and programs. Find an agency that adapts to the time we are in and uses Telehealth and is truly HIRING, not firing. You deserve better. We all do.
