Pros

BetterLife is a mission-driven, member-owned, non-profit life insurance company. Under new leadership, it’s increasing its investment in the business and is growing again. The people at BetterLife care about their colleagues and their customers. It’s a small company, so you might wear many different hats and have an opportunity to try new things or advance more rapidly than at a larger company.

Cons

Many of the systems are still old-fashioned. While some of these are appropriate for BetterLife’s strategy to serve small towns, there are a lot of inefficiencies. On the positive side, it’s not hard to find ways to make improvements, and they seem to have the money to make it better. It’s not a good place if you want a repetitive job that never changes.

Pros

I really wanted to be professional on this review but I’m not going to hold back. This company sucks. From their NON INCLUSIVE CULTURE- new CEO word for word said “it’s good to have Midwest roots as you’re more likely to stay with the company.” This place isn’t a business, it’s a “not cool kids” cool kids club. VPs that do nothing keep their jobs and go on vacation for weeks at a time. Managers are too busy to do their jobs. We have meetings just for the sake of having meetings even though NOTHING GETS DONE OR CHANGES. Marketing is deplorable. I bet money this company is nonexistent in 4 years. Bunch of people getting paid to do nothing.

Cons

Everything starting from the day you get hired.
