Pros

Exposure to interesting behavioral science theories

Cons

- High attrition, especially in sales. - Performance plans for everyone, even top performers. Those came after the CEO and CRO fired 10 reps and 2 sales managers without enough transparency as to what they needed to improve. - I also heard from multiple sources that there’s a text thread with the CEO, CRO, and a few other sales leaders where they make fun of reps’ LinkedIn posts behind their backs. How’s that for culture? - Just find somewhere else to work. If the concept of BetterUp sounds too good to be true, that’s because it is.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We take all feedback very seriously. At BetterUp, our ultimate goal is to create an environment where everyone on the team has the support and direction to thrive on a personal and professional level. Your feedback regarding exclusionary acts from leadership is concerning to us, as it goes against our commitment to inclusion and belonging, and the expectations we have for all of our people leaders. We encourage all employees to speak to an HR Team member if they witness any exclusionary actions– AllVoices is an additional anonymous feedback platform that our employees can use if they don’t feel comfortable reaching out directly to the HR team. It is true we have an expectation for our leaders to have formal quarterly feedback touch-points, which include self-reflection and development goals, for all team members, including high-performers. Our last employee feedback survey showed that the sales organization wanted more transparency on team performance, which we've quickly mobilized around by highlighting monthly KPI's and opportunities for collaboration. I realize you have noted that you are no longer an employee with us, but if you are willing to share more details with us, our HR team would be grateful for the opportunity to learn more about where we can improve. Thank you again for your candid feedback, and we hope to hear from you soon. - The BetterUp People Team

Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed working with your managers! However, we want to address your statement that we do not offer paid time off or sick leave. All BetterUp employees are eligible for Flexible Vacation Time Off (FTO). This includes full-time, part-time, temporary, and intern employees. All BetterUp employees receive 72 hours of paid sick leave per year. BetterUp also provides two Inner Work Weeks and four Inner Work Days per year, where our employees have paid time off to focus on their inner world (processes, values, mental models we use to make sense of the world) to achieve a purpose or result. Additionally, we are proud to provide all full-time regular employees with five paid volunteer days per year. -The BetterUp People Team
