Pros

Company fun days are great and a nice way of giving back to their employees.

Cons

Overstock has a tendency to take action without thinking or investigating things thoroughly. They are lacking Vision, Strategic Planning, Integrity and Focus. 1) Inconsistent behavior of upper management, lack of a good moral foundation. 2) Promoting the most ineffective managers with no "Leadership Qualities". (Sometimes the most talented person can make for one of the most "ineffective" managers.) 3) Abruptly letting long term employees go with no rhyme or reason 4) Pretends to "care" and expresses how you should share but you dare even when it's in the best interest for the Company. 5) Lack of appreciation in the workplace, most do not appreciate your work. 6) Little compensation is given to Customer Service employees

Pros

Compensation is competitive, and benefits are as well, if hired on permanently. They provide bottled water, and have a hot beverage despenser. Also regularly buy the employees meals, and rent out Lagoon for a day during the summer.

Cons

As many reviews have stated, the leadership needs an overhaul. Promotions are mostly based upon how much someone is liked, and not based upon work performance. Infact, there have been people promoted that should have been fired, and have no business being in a leadership position. I have witnessed, and endured bullying by leadership from all levels. Racial favoritism is an issue as well, however it isn't noticed because it's not the leaders who are white doing it. There are too many cons within the leadership aspect of Overstock.com to list.

Pros

Overstock has a very open feeling to it. It's easy to make friends, be yourself, and not worry about trivial office problems. They give good training, and it's easy to settle in to the job. Getting days off isn't too difficult, and raises aren't impossible to earn.

Cons

Upper management are too obsessed with themselves to sit down and make a logical decision. Oftentimes a decision is made that would detriment the customers just to satisfy an executive's pride. The job is fine, as long as you stay away from upper management.
