Pros

Since Covid sent all CS workers home in 2020 I have no Pros due to loss of community.

Cons

Management digs them selves into holes that agents are expected to dig them out of without any real plan of how this will be done. Micromanagement is really bad here especially if you are viewed as a "high paid" employee, you should always expect to be on the chopping block. They will create lies about why you were let go and claim that they have had all effective corrective conversations with you but not work to help correct any shortfalls until they have already decided to let you go. Don't expect them to be clear and open about any potential changes or expectations because that would be more work added to the already exhausted supervisory team.

Pros

At least you are employed.

Cons

Co-workers used to be in the pros. so many people leaving and they cant hire fast enough. One reason people are leaving is Overstock is proving how little they care about their devs and QA by the minuscule pay raises they are given and a token bonus and maybe (if you are in the right pay grade) some RSUs. the pay raises they are giving dont even start to bring people up to where the industry is currently. They also will only let you work remote in 20 states. Not a huge deal, but petty if you ask me. So, they work you till you want to drop because so many are leaving, give the execs huge bonuses, and show the employees they don't care. Im currently looking for other companies to work for. Ones that care.

What a circus CS is.

Pros

Benefits are hands down the only pro

Cons

Compensation does not go to those whom deserve it. If you want to make a decent wage here you better be a friend of higher ups or purchase the most comfortable knee pads and start sucking. Leadership moves in extremes with no regard for anything or anyone else. Everything done is by opinion base only. Preaching leadership values is what’s done best but only very few actually walk the walk. Change and development is expected but there is NO FEEDBACK given, if your doing something wrong expect to be written up or fired with zero notice or opportunity to change. People are expected to apply for internal positions but in return don’t get interviews or opportunity for advancement. If you do get an interview be prepared to get a denial letter with NO FEEDBACK on how to change or grow. Everyone has a hand in all the pots but nobody is communicating with each other. You have supervisors and managers that give different directions daily that contradict each other so your not sure who to follow or what to do. If you ask for clarification be prepared for a virtual spanking. Nobody cares about anyone but themselves. What a circus! I see many other reviews going back years saying the same things so this will just be another ignored review that gets swept under the rug. If you desire mental health issues and don’t value yourself then overstock is a great place for you.
