Pros

Big Squid operates like a big family. I hear it all the time, and I agree, people love coming to the office because we all love the people. That's not a characteristic you find in business very frequently. While we all have specific titles, we all take responsibility for the mission of the company--meaning we wear many hats at times, we stretch ourselves beyond what's comfortable, and we play very impactful roles in driving the growth of the company that we're all looking to achieve. A core value of our company is to drive career growth in the organization. Everyone here is learning all the time. I love that. Data Science and Predictive Analytics is all the rage in the analytics and BI space right now and Big Squid is on the bleeding edge of this insane evolution in business practices. Fast forward 5 years and those organizations who are winning in their sectors will be using predictive everywhere in their business. Big Squid is at the forefront of this evolution.

Cons

We work hard to play hard and at times we work harder than we play. But that's where we are as a company right now. If you are looking for a 9-5 coast your way through a hi-tech job this isn't the place for you. But if you want to ride a rocket ship into a data/analytics revolution, you won't find this level of effort a con.

Pros

Big Squid is a place where those who have ambitions to broaden and grow their skills. The executive team truly cares about being successful. The team is competitive and there's a family atmosphere that I haven't felt in many years. The CEO is always working to ensure that employees are treated fairly. If you want to make an impact and work for a company that's working on cutting-edge technology with fast growth, this is the place for you.

Cons

As with any small company, Big Squid has experienced it's fair share of challenges. However, I believe the worst is behind us and I'm excited for future growth.

Pros

The company has been in a transition from a digital marketing agency into a data and predictive analytics software company. It has a strong team environment, a management team that truly cares about your development, and investment in cutting edge job skills. Great downtown SLC vibe.

Cons

The Atlanta team went through a tough transition in 2016 with the divesting of its digital marketing business. Some great people were no longer a great skill fit, and it created some turnover and bad feelings. This included a founder who left and sort of brought the Atlanta vibe down. It also didn't help that the CEO moved to SLC from the Atlanta office during this period as the company shifted focus to SLC based partnerships. Definitely a tale of two cities, but the good news is that the remaining team in Atlanta is a great group that didn't get sucked into the transition drama and rumor mill.
