Pros

Nice office, people can work from where-ever, whenever, but then again, that's how the culture disappeared.

Cons

Culture vanished after COVID, departments became siloed, and the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. People got extremely demanding and entitled working from their 3rd vacation home on some remote island. God forbid the CEO doesn't have a statement on whatever is showing on the TV! The layoffs were well deserved, although incomplete, in my opinion. Management has no idea what you're doing, but loves to micro manage on the smallest detail. To keep you in line I guess? But, if you knew your manager from a different company, you can do whatever you want with just a finger-wag. You get promoted while co-workers struggle on naming your accomplishments, while you're running the whole show by yourself. Folks in higher positions keep their knowledge to themselves for job security, while manager dangles the carrot of promotion in front of your face to keep you from leaving.

Pros

-Strong product -Brand -Benefits are pretty good -Pay is pretty good

Cons

-Nonstop changes in managment & leadership -No clear direction and ever changing goals & metrics -Minimal development or leadership, just a "boss" -Goals based on upper managment desires and not realistic market goals -For a company this size, terrible CRM and internal systems -Expectations typically unattainable for most employees -High achievers are working 60+ hours a week minimum. Need a better expection of what success is. People have families and lives outside of work but workload and responsibilities are very high for most. -Large layoff after hiring people for those roles. No forward vision was used in the hiring of these roles. -Large layoff since they are public and goal to increase stock price vs run the business or grow the business. -Company has a good growth and business decisions are made based on wallstreet vs actually hiring and staffing departments where people ARE needed. Teams are highly understaffed to fit stock profit.

Hard working, smart, and generally fun people to be around Strong product in a competitive Industry Typical start up benefits Work /life balance in terms of company wide initiatives Community Focused Resume booster and will attract recruiters and potential next opportunities with greater salary/bonus/benefits potential

Cons

Marketing turnover has been high and BigCommerce stumbled in terms of recognition(with Merchants) a few years ago Former senior member of leadership was the catalyst for many departures Typical start up challenges (lack of processes/workflows)
