They don't hire enough people to do all the work needed. Worked 50 plus hours a week and got no raise this year

Pros

It is a more or less stable company than others. Good people to work with. Great benefits package. You get a promotion in 6 months at first, then the next is every 5 years or longer. You get exposure to many aspects of R&D, marketing and regulatory affairs if you are in the right groups and is better used as a launch pad in your career.

Cons

Feels no longer like a family owned business but is more shareholder oriented since David Schwartz died 3 years ago. They layoff people and projects to make the business grow. Pay is low and promotions are slow (5 years at a time) It is a production based company and has a low emphasis for personal growth. Work-life balance can be skewed. Don't get a laptop. If you do, they will expect more from you. You can easily put in 10-11 hr days and the extra work isn't recognized but then becomes expected. The leadership is stern and confrontational and resistant to new process changes. They are an infantile state of robust design and have no competitive advantage with larger diagnostic companies. You are given a company credit card and you are expected to pay late charges if they don't pay your bill on time even though it isn't your fault. Getting repayment can be a challenge and a huge negative. Get receipts for everything. Management makes you feel bad for taking your personal time off from work from your own account and you must have an explanation to do so, even though policies written encourage you to use your account balance because you have earned it which is highly contradictory between ideals and actions. They lay off 20 year and 39 year seniority personnel right before retirement.

Pros

Good products, very competitive on the market, pretty good quality support. it was an opportunity to work with people from many countries, with different degrees of Healthcare system development.

Cons

Sometimes there were big problems with the logistic part, concerning late deliveries, backorderes. As for compensation and benefits, I can''t complain, these were pretty acceptable.
