Why doesn’t Biogen hire former employees as consultants?

Pros

Neither pro or con. Just an observation. Biogen’s policy is to not hire former full time employees back into a consulting space. Why? This is the most absurd, idiotic logic. Former employees who leave the company to pursue consulting can be a most valuable return asset. They know the in and outs of the company and there is no need for health benefits, 401k, etc., just direct pay and they can be terminated at any point. Sounds like a win-win situation for Biogen but again, top level idiots are running the show.
