Pros

While this company does offer some seemingly attractive benefits—such as a competitive starting salary—those positives are unfortunately outweighed by a number of serious issues that prospective employees should be aware of.

Cons

First, the benefits package is below industry standard, and the PTO policy is particularly restrictive. Employees are granted only one week of paid time off after a full year of employment, with no allowance for time off prior to that anniversary. Attempting to take time off earlier can result in disciplinary action, including demotion, a pay cut, and being told to “take time to reflect on your bad attendance.” Work-life balance is virtually nonexistent. Employees are expected to work 60+ hours per week on salary, and there is a pervasive lack of privacy. Company-issued phones are tracked by ownership, and surveillance cameras monitor activity in trucks, offices, and outdoor areas around the clock. Promotions can come with strings attached—often more responsibilities and unrealistic expectations without adequate support or training. We've seen multiple instances where people were recruited from across the country, relocated with their families, and then were either let go shortly after or pressured to resign "to protect their job history." Salaries can also be reduced unexpectedly if mistakes are made, even in situations where the employee was not properly trained or given clear direction from management. Negotiated terms can be changed unilaterally, often without warning. My advice: think twice before accepting a position here or with any of the sister companies under the BIR umbrella. Do your due diligence, ask specific questions, and get everything in writing.

Pros

I joined BIR transport in 2024, one thing that impressed me the most is the attitude of all the employees at BIR Transport. I always get to see a sense of company loyalty in most members of the team, mixed with a bonafide job satisfaction. Another great thing about working at BIR Transport is that “typical day” is never typical, there is always something challenging & new happening. Everyday is filled with new learning opportunities. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the team. I think everyone should “Go With The Best” #TeamBIR !

Cons
