Pros

In less than a year and a half at Bitcasa I've had the opportunity to have a very dynamic role working with and across multiple departments. From technical support, community management, social media, marketing, developer relations, front-end web development, and everything in between, I can honestly say I've done it all. I've learned so many new skill sets that I would have never learned in a corporate environment. The benefits and PTO are great and competitive to most startups in the Bay Area. The team is incredibly passionate, harding working, supportive and fun. Leadership and mentor-ship - of the entire company, not including the CEO, my boss is one of the hardest working people on our team and Exec staff. The definition of a leader and mentor were redefined when he joined the team, and we're better for it. I'm very fortunate to work for someone I can look up to and rely on. Despite how busy he is, he always makes time to listen to my concerns, teach me new things, and advocate on my behalf. Startups are a grind and the challenges don't let up. If you have the drive to succeed and willingness to standout amongst the crowd, there are a ton of opportunities here at Bitcasa. For me, the Bitcasa team and my boss are what make this startup grind totally worth it.

Cons

Not enough recognition for hard work and dedication. Some in management positions are too gossipy, lack maturity, professionalism, and overall leadership. Promotions and bonuses are inconsistent. Culture and company communication dominated by corporate policies.

Pros

The company has just transitioned from an also-ran consumer cloud service to a development platform built on some pretty killer tech that is beginning to get attention around the industry. The management team is not afraid to make tough decisions and the quality of the overall team is increasing. Great benefits package.

Cons

Big transitions are tough. There is left-over fatigue from that experience as well as a few people who still do not get it / agree with the new direction. Its the main reason some people have left recently. The expectations are big and the hours are long - but that's what it takes.

Pros

Great group of dedicated employees. The people still here have stuck through tough transition from consumer to developer platform. Work with interesting technologies, and good perks.

Cons

Need to see progress on the business development and sales. And need more technical leadership across the company.
