Pros

I had a great time at BitSight and grew immensely as an engineer there. The leadership and teams are extremely talented and focused on being the leaders in the market. You'll work with people from diverse backgrounds and there is always something new to learn. -Working with the market leader that helped define the market itself -A well funded and established startup, but still with plenty of opportunities to move up for the ambitious. -Being well established, the equity is really promising. -Modern tech stack. Additionally, management is not afraid at all to tackle upgrading legacy technologies. -There are tons of problems to solve so there are tons of opportunities to move around and work on different problems. -Free catered lunches on Fridays (free food is extremely rare in the RTP), unlimited snacks and drinks every day. -Compared to other local Raleigh startups, the compensation is good.

Cons

-The Raleigh office is small and could use some more love. -With the company rapidly growing, they need to update their bonus and 401k structure.

Pros

BitSight created a market for security ratings from nothing and rapidly emerged as the market leader. It is a fundamentally new and different product and tons of hard problems to solve. The business is growing exponentially, which means there is a ton of opportunity for leadership and career growth. The engineering team is a diverse group of smart people and there is tons to learn from each other.

Cons

Its a startup, so they will give you as much responsibility as you can handle, which will push you to edge of your comfort zone. The business is rapidly expanding, which brings plenty of pressure to succeed.
