Pros

I was excited to join BitSight a number of months ago for many reasons. Below you will find some of my early observations. I hope you find these helpful as you think about BitSight as your next home. 1.) BitSight is the pace setter in the market. We are working quickly and collaboratively to solve the challenges of today and tomorrow. I have found myself pulled into many different projects and initiatives that have had a real impact on what we do and how we do it. 2.) Your voice matters here. It was clear from day one that leadership invests significant effort into creating transparency while ensuring that the team members feel heard. The senior leadership team is both visible and accessible. 3.) Your professional growth matters here. Team members are given opportunities to grow and develop. In the short while I have been here, I have seen a significant number of employees promoted and moved into roles where they have broader impact. 4.) This company cares about causes that impact society. From supporting organizations committed to curing cancer, to causes seeking to end social inequality, this company invests and empowers employees to make a difference in the world we care about. So far, it has been a great first few months and I am optimistic about the road ahead.

Cons

There are the typical growing pains born from success, growth and change. The company does not hide from the issues, and employees are often empowered to make a difference.

Pros

* engineering is top notch and a great group of people, pretty much everyone is a joy to work with * product is the best in its market, it DEFINED the market * leadership has been around the block before and knows what they're doing * tech stack is interesting and up to date * lots of responsibility and project ownership is available

Cons

* ops team definitely needs another person or two, it's about a 1:10 ops:sw engineer ratio while I was there * some new management isn't necessarily widely liked and has been a catalyst for several good employees to leave for other opportunities * there's can be sort of a butts-in-seats attitude at times.

Pros

-people in the cambridge office are are very welcoming and friendly -product team is awesome, if you are applying for sales this is huge because bitsight is the market leader in the space -sales leadership is very good, new vp of sales has proven track record -upper management has an amazing track record of successful exits at multiple companies -company is GROWING and hiring in all departments, so there is lots of room for career growth and promotion -excellent transparency from executives, everyone is clear what the mission is and how we are going to get there If you are looking for the "hot new startup" in boston, this place might not be for you, but if you want to make a great career move at a company that is destined for greatness, then you need to apply.

Cons

-office location is not the best for food, drinks after work etc, and traffic can be bad -due to all the growth, space is limited, that is going to change very soon in 2018 though
