Pros
The things that matter to any person when choosing a company are IP, product market fit, differentiation, strong executive leadership, happy customers, cash on hand, predictability of business model. It's hard to find any one company that exceeds expectations in all of these categories but there are a few that do and BitSight in Boston is one of them. The compounded growth rate over the first four years of serving the market are is as good as it gets, BitSight's financials and ability to quickly capture the markets we serve puts the company in a very select status. The company's mission of making the world a safer place now rings true for almost 2,000 enterprises in addition to national governments in countries around the world. Now that we live in the "Connected Era" or as some say, the 4th Industrial Revolution where technology has enabled an "on-demand" society, security and the ability to manage risk will always be top of mind for every company executive as the reputational risk of not being secure can forever damage brand reputation. The people at BitSight care, everyone is respectful and everyone regardless of what job they do, feels connected to the mission and together we are making history.
Cons
Strong growth breeds high expectations and for every single successful company in the history of the world, there comes a day when the company meets a critical inflection point. At this point, what enabled early success changes and the company's ability to anticipate and adapt to the changing market determines everything. If the foundation is strong (and here it is) the wind will never be a factor. Growing pains are not always easy to manage but knowing that you are experiencing them only means that you are that much closer to a new level of success. In 2019, BitSight has evolved, it has become a better company but most importantly, the culture and the collaboration which helped it become successful remain in tact, stronger than before and as an employee, I am grateful to be part of the movement . Pressure is privilege and in the absence of pressure lays a world of mediocrity. This is not a place for those who want a 9-5, no accountability career...
