Pros

People are genuinely nice and open.

Cons

Compensation is poor. Opaque in terms of career progression. Silos between teams within teams that does not allow much flexibility in movement. Core skillsets developed are usually very specialised and non-transferable. Calibre of people can be quite sub-standard in certain business groups.

Cut-throat financial firm

Pros

Best asset mgmt firm in the world. Huge firm with a lot of smart people.

Cons

A lot of politics in the office. Cut throat culture. The firm is 80% male and lacks female. People work hard and there is hardly any work life balance. Most people are 30-50 years old and don't have families and dedicate their life and soul to finance.
