Pros

Challenging work; smart people; hard working; no slackers!

Cons

Lots of re-orgs; shifting priorities; lots of "hoop jumping" to get easy things done

Pros

Relatively good salary package compared to other companies, above market average. It can be a very IT organization rather than a financial institution if you are in the technology side of the firm.

Cons

It is a top-down management culture where most of the time, it is just following orders.

Pros

Pay, flexibility, benefits, resources, investment research. Blackrock has some great people working very hard in most departments and provides solid operational support.

Cons

Lack of promotions, chasing margins, technology, too big feeling. The company is being run to focus primarily on meeting next quarters budget and profit margin. Headcount is always changing and reducing which leaves increasing workload on the remaining employees.
