Pros

The company has great people, decent pay and benefits and most managers will help with career development as best they are able to.

Cons

Blackbaud is notorious for layoffs (basically happen annually, even if they don't have to officially be called "layoffs" by the SEC definition), so if you get a job here be sure to build up your emergency fund and be prepared for anything. even if you love your job at BB if something better happens to come your way you should probably take it b/c they won't hesitate to let you go if it suits their interests. Also, unfortunately, the products of theirs are basically windows 95 dinosaurs and anything new they're developing really appears to be already out of date so working in marketing can be challenging as you're trying to convince people to spend way too much for way too little.

Good Company - but not good enough to keep you from constantly looking around.

Pros

Decent pay for SC. Great people to work with. Good work life balance (no after hours work required). Gym on site. Ability to work from home.

Cons

Merit raises are minimal at best - 1-3% for outstanding work. Not all positions have level progression - leaving you to either look for new positions to see more than merit increases in salary. Those who are not good at their jobs remain - seems impossible to get fired. (This could be seen as a pro.) Very little in the way of culture.

Not a lot of opportunity for growth at the management/director level. They tend to stay in those positions for a long time.
