Pros

-the interns are nice and friendly. -free WiFi

Cons

-almost everyone at the company is an intern -I regret ignoring all the warning signs about this company. check Wall Street Oasis. even though it was written in 2008, it is still pretty accurate 5 years later. this just goes to show that there has been minimal change in this failing company after 5 years. what does that say about its potential and feasibility? -no one knows when the last time Blackmore has successfully closed a deal.

Thank you for your feedback. We have been failing our way to success since 2005! Want to hear what the former President of Pepsi says about Blackmore and their business model? Go to the following YouTube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsepnBlPT5U The majority of the company is made up of interns but there are also four full time employees and five off-site. Some of the best interns are made offers to stay after their six months and move into roles with more responsibilities and significant compensation opportunties The company is continuously working to improve processes. For example, they added an HR department in order to better manage the company culture and environment for the interns. Our program was modeled after "Junior Achievement. You get out of it what you put in. If you got nothing out of it, likely you did not apply yourself. Since 2005, we estimate over 300 interns have gone through the program. The internship is a "training program" with clear and measurable written outcomes to develop those who cannot get a job in todays market. Blackmore is only for those who want to cannot get a paid position because they lack training and experience. Those that complete the program gain measurable, repeatable skills valued by employers. Consider you were scammed by your college. After four years of college you were not employable, they took your money and did not deliver. Your college did not have the respect for you and others of your generation to deliver what the market needs in an employee. In six months at Blackmore you build professional and communication skills that employers value and will pay you to come aboard. Also we are hiring: http://www.glassdoor.com/job-listing/ma-advisory-internship-private-equity-unpaid-6-month-JV_IC1128808_KO0,52_IE308034.htm?jl=1355930690&paoIdKey=MA==

Pros

There are no pros to this company. The only thing that's good about the position is the location, and even that's not good compared to where other firms that are actually in finance are located.

Cons

Nothing but grunt work. It takes advantage of it's disproportionately international intern pool to mine information that will allow a few people to make money while interns get nothing. There are plenty of internships that are much better and that teach much more relevant skills. You'll learn NOTHING about financial modeling, M&A, PE, or any other field this company claims to be involved in... Did I mention that this is all unpaid? If there were tangible skills being learned/taught, this might not be a big deal. But to look up information in salesforce and linkedin is nothing that will set you apart from any other applicants in real institutions...

Thank you for your feedback. If you really did work at Blackmore Partners, Inc you would know interns are already in the United States. Want to hear what the former President of Pepsi says about Blackmore and their business model? Go to the following YouTube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsepnBlPT5U Blackmore attracts international interns because it is an opportunity for them to work on their communications skills and understanding of American business culture. Interns that put in the effort to move to the back-end portion of the business have the opportunity to interact with PE firms and gain relevant industry knowledge. Our program was modeled after "Junior Achievement. You get out of it what you put in. If you got nothing out of it, likely you did not apply yourself. And judging by your complaints we would guess that you did not complete the very well designed program. Pros

Some of your coworkers are cool, that is it when it comes to Pros

Cons

Where to start? The management does not pay you, and does not inform you in that any no deals have been completed in over 5 years. This internship has not led to any useful experience gained and I consider it 5 months of my life I am never getting back. One interesting experience is in that the management will give you a 10-15 minute long lesson if you are 2-3 minutes late to the building. Hardly seems an efficient use of time. I have also never previously worked in an environment where management is so rude- repeatedly screaming at employees and swering at them.

The purpose of this internship is to build the skills and professionalism you will need moving forward in your career. Promptness is certainly something that is expected from all employers and is something that is agreed upon in the intern contract. We have human resources department to continue to bring order and to ensure a favorable work environment and prevent interactions that are considered inappropriate.
