One of the heads in management used to steal and eat other employees' stipend meals provided by the company (that has stopped being offered now), it seemed as if this manager thinks their actions don't have any consequences, this person's presence can seem excessive or inconsistent almost in a micro-management sort of way, especially in regard to the floor chatter for desk employees, very control oriented in the flow of conversation, regardless if it was just small talk or an actual patient issue/medication discussion, if you’re not talking about something this manager liked or your tone/volume was annoying to this person, you got singled out in front of everyone on the desk floor, this is very uncomfortable not only for the person being ridiculed but everyone else. This manager also partook in serious gossip, validating this behavior among a few employees. There really is no room for growth or pay raises, they say you have annual performance reviews, but I have never heard of anyone getting consistent yearly raises.
Most of the managers in general actually don’t know what they're doing and often have the lead technicians fixing their mistakes and training. There is one consistent manager, that is very professional, helpful and attentive, who I believe should be the head but is not. Usually when this manager is off or on vacation, the other managers do not know how to regulate the pharmacy’s work flow. It is very corporate-y, management follows what HR and the higher ups want.
My biggest dislike was how management can favor seniority in some of their pharm techs; prioritizing their ideal schedule over the needs of the pharmacy (for example having the leads not work weekends and/or 1 weekday) which causes SERIOUS staffing issues and influx of unresolved patient issues, which can become very frustrating when you are trying to do your job to the best of your ability but have no support... because your lead/trainer is GONE. This does not help customer satisfaction either. There is also a consistent new hire turnover, some of whom don’t stay more than 3 months due to a misjudgment of character during the interview process. The core technicians and pharmacists are great but they are the backbone of that place, and they don’t get a lot manager support.
