      Great for Android devs (depending on team)

      Pros

      * Great android dev culture. Many experienced android devs. Quick to adopt latest technology. Foundation teams dedicated to things like design system and build system. * Doesn't seem particularly great outside of android dev e.g. apparently complicated ember web codebase * Easy to get experience interviewing even as a relatively junior dev (it's actually heavily encouraged) * Remote-first. Very flexible with schedule * Opportunity for greenfield dev with latest and greatest tech depending on team

      * more difficult to get promoted than hired at a given level * Stock doing poorly * Meals aren't provided at offices

      Square is a bottoms up company. My day-to-day is relatively stress-free and I can determine realistic deadlines for my projects

      Cons

      Leadership hasn't done a good job of properly communicating the "whys" behind their latest comp policies which has garnered a lot of distrust
