Pros

Working at LLS has been one of the most meaningful professional experiences of my career. The mission is not just something we talk about, it's something everyone here actively works toward every day. It’s deeply inspiring to know that the work we do directly contributes to advancing cures and supporting patients and families impacted by blood cancer. The people here are some of the most brilliant, mission-driven individuals I’ve ever worked with. From strategy to execution, there’s a deep level of commitment, thoughtfulness, and expertise that drives results. It’s a privilege to collaborate with colleagues who are as smart as they are compassionate. Another huge benefit is the remote work environment. The flexibility promotes a strong sense of work-life balance, and yet the culture remains very collaborative. People are generous with their time and ideas, and there’s a real sense of community across departments. I also want to highlight how incredible my team’s leadership is, from my VP (who I report to) to our SVP and our Chief People Officer. They lead with clarity, empathy, and vision, and consistently foster a culture of trust and support. It’s rare to find leaders who are both strategic and genuinely invested in the development and well-being of their teams, and I feel very fortunate to be under their guidance.

Cons

Like with any remote organization, building strong interpersonal relationships can take a bit more intentionality. It may come more naturally to some than others, and it takes effort to create those personal connections in a virtual setting. Additionally, with so many intelligent and passionate individuals, there can occasionally be a sense of working in silos. That said, there’s a clear and ongoing effort to break down those barriers and build greater synergy across business units, which is both needed and appreciated.

Pros

National NPO Prioritizes mission focus Outstanding (affordable!) benefits Not too large, not too small -- just the right size to build relationships and engage directly with employees across departments and teams. Easy to navigate

Cons

Like every organization, it has the typical instances of political dynamics and occasional dysfunction, though less than some and its actively acknowledged and managed. Not a "con", just an objective truth about business.
