Pros

employees and volunteers are very dedicated development of both programs and fundraising programs are mature and strategic

Cons

In the last few years, the org. made changes to the way it is structured and became much more stringent in what field (regions) could implement. Essentially eliminating any autonomy of the ED and other field leadership and distancing local volunteers. Huge burnout as well. Messaging about healthy culture conflicts with the workload.

Pros

volunteers were great to work with

Cons

Management needs an override all around from the National Leadership team to local teams. LLS was once a great place to work, but people from GAP are completely taking over and trying to run the organization as they do in retail. Ultimately, the mission loses out with such poor management.

Pros

Pay was average. Literally all I can say here.

Cons

Office culture was sneaky and gossipy. Very little employees actually cared about the needs of the patients - only cared about fundraising, which was heavily tied to/influenced by pharma and truly never benefited the patients directly. While I was there they cut thousands of patients' monthly stipend (upwards of $10,000) with no notice. Office was 98% white and snobby. Horrible work/life balance.
