      Pros

      The organization is extremely passionate about the mission, puts customer service at the top of priorities, and employees are given a ton of responsibility. There is great opportunity to change roles if you are looking for something new within the organization. They value employees and promote when revenue goals allow it.

      Cons

      Most people I've encountered have burnt out after a couple years. Constantly looking to grow, so it's never enough. Management often restructures. As campaigns have grown, work/life balance has gone down.

      Pros

      The mission, patients and volunteers are huge motivators. It is certainly easier to come to work when you know your efforts are going to something so important. The pay is decent for a non-profit and if you work hard, you will be rewarded with great time off, benefits and bonuses. The work environment was generally fun and high-spirited. With certain positions, the ability to travel is there.

      Cons

      There is definitely a high level of pressure when working in a fundraising position - I held positions in various departments, so I was able to see the difference when working on the administrative side. There are some late nights and weekend work, again depending on the position. We had some issues within our chapter that I would have liked to see resolved in a more professional manner, but the majority of my time there was great.

      Pros

      Good people (staff & volunteers) helping those battling cancer. Highly rewarding to help facilitate life saving research. LLS has an array of initiatives that strategically fund research and accelerate the approval process for new therapies.

      Cons

      Pay. Depending on position and supervisor, expectations of time commitment and schedule can be skewed. Management didn't seem to understand the significance of how its decisions affect staff professionally, while at LLS and especially beyond.
