Pros

free ice cream, looks good on a resume, off every sunday, get to work independently get off early on saturdays

Cons

pay starts off decent but never really increases over the years, when you get a promotion you make less money and still pretty much do the same work. a driver may make $45-$47k and a supervisor will make $42k. Get a promotion after supervisor and you make even less than that. Management is not good at all, too much favoritism, no respect for family life unless you are the bosses pet. The first inclination they get that you want to improve your life (go to school, start a part time business) and it doesn't include Blue Bell they begin to treat you differently. ridicule you and scrutinize you excessively. Also management is very unfair, rules don't apply to everyone there. Only the ones that they want to enforce them on. It was a great place to work 5 years ago but if you want to advance and grow this isn't the place for you. benefits are horrible too, Blue Bell runs their own health insurance and they will refuse to pay anything they can, for a spouse it costs $290/ month for the premium.

Pros

Great Product Great Line Employees Great Respect for Family Time Never Had a Layoff

Cons

Very Low Pay No Chance for Advancement No Empowerment to Change Vacations and Time Off very hard to use Most supervisors are local candidates that cannot leave the area No vertical or horizontal career movement Upper Management is all family. Truly is not what you know but who you know.
