Pros

In my current role, there is a great work-life balance, an excellent PTO/Sick Time accrual rate, work from home, a supportive manager in my current position, and good people.

Cons

In a previous role in customer service, I dealt with abysmal and borderline abusive management, terrible hours, and an overall broken support system that left you to sink or swim.

Pros

Flexible schedule, work from home, great benefits

Cons

Upper management sees you as just a number. They assign 35-50 cases per week and make you feel as though it’s your obligation to work overtime to deal with all the cases. They expect you to work 40 cases, while triaging 10-15 cases per day and dealing with call backs. Couple that with low pay compared to the work load. It is a very stressful job and you will absolutely hate people who call you back and waste your time complaining regarding their denial. It is very hard to get time off since management will ask you what is your plan to deal with your 40 cases per week. Everyone is overworked, under paid and burned out. We have health day Off, community time and pto but you feel penalized for even requesting and using it. The only way is to call out sick or kin care when you need time off. Which I love blue shield for, they are flexible there.
