Pros

I liked my coworkers, the flexibility to work from home and the location

Cons

Lack of resources (both in people and in technology) to accomplish goals and objectives, terrible management, poor vision and leadership, constant reorganizations that just caused more work and confusion.

Pros

Great location in the SF near transportation. Lot's of places to eat nearby.

Cons

I expected so much more from a "health care" company that has been in business for over 75 years. What I witnessed was complete organizational dysfunction, no work life balance, too much emphasis on reducing administrative cost at the expense of employees and management who views employees as disposable. Very little mentoring of employees or proactive thinking in HR. In a highly regulated environment one would expect a lot of rigor around corporate policy and procedure and establishing a strong corporate structure. The final straw was listening to unprofessional foul language by Senior Managers in meetings and outside of meetings. Completely inappropriate in the corporate environment.

Pros

- great benefits - remote work - flexibility - quiet weeks during summer and fall - great co-workers

Cons

Managers at this company need to be trained in employee relations, empathy, and overall how to be a leader. The day my family member died, my manager asked me when I was returning to work. The appropriate response would have been “take all the time you need”. There are also no conversations regarding professional growth and development and dare if you want a promotion you have to practically beg for it. Another manager was talking badly about their direct reports to me, that’s extremely unprofessional.
