      only the upper ranks get new career opportunities, others remain in same jobs year after year. the training budget is non-existent.

      In San Francisco, downtown, close to great lunch spots and public transit. Competitive rates

      Cons

      If you must drive parking is at least $20 a day. Very dull office space depending on the building. Not a very friendly group if they don’t know who you are.

      Pros

      It is a good place to start as an entry level position. The work is fairly straightforward and the compensation is okay. The 401K matching was nice in addition to the pension offering.

      Cons

      Promotions were slow in coming. Usually it involved being assigned the work of the next level up for several months before there was any consideration. Treatment very much depended on whether or not management "liked" you and usually, once you got on the bad side, the situation tended not to improve, even over the course of years. Though beginning compensation might have been fair for the type of work done, as a person progressed in to more complex responsibilities, compensation started to lag behind.
