Pros

A. Training was outstanding (due solely to Wes, the deservingly promoted now corporate trainer) B. Unsupervised and you can do as bad or as good a job as you want. For someone that takes pride in doing a good job, you have ample opportunity to go home being proud of the work you did for the day. C. Plenty of opportunity to compete against yourself and your peers.

Cons

First and foremost - You are a SALESMAN just as much if not MORE than you are a technician, management will relentlessly remind you to sell sell sell regardless of the needs of the customer. You will get so sick of hearing the word 'Polk' [sound system] that hearing Polk will make you want to Puke. A. Risk getting hurt or killed every day for low pay (both overall in regards to what you do and in comparison to industry) and laughable commission B. Shell out hundreds of your own dollars to purchase required equipment C. No business for the office means no work, no hours, and no paycheck for you D. Customers are harassed, deceived, and in some cases (DishOne) flat out lied to; for these reasons and others, 8/10 customers are unhappy to see you and will let you know it. Appreciation and thanks for the work you did for the customer, no matter how exemplary, is very rare. E. Unsafe, unsanitary, and sometimes outright dangerous work conditions F. Rosy words come out of management's mouths but harsh reality is what you will experience G. Held to HIGHER work standards for LOWER pay H. You work until your route's done. What that means is you show up in the morning and you may work a standard 10-hour day, a light 4-hour day or a 14-or-more hour day. **Personal Note** I was abandoned in the field in the middle of large job to figure out and complete the job myself as the newly-promoted manager left to attend the company picnic. Pros

Great pay for techs. 4 day work week most of the time

Cons

At management levels you are required to wear too many different hats per say. You may be the training manager but you are also responsible for the field duties, the damage claim assessments, customer call backs, interviews, follow ups, and on the weekend Gm responsibilities. I am sure I am forgetting a few things. Also out of the 6 main offices we have it seems each office gets different information on what we should be doing. Oh and the pay at the upper levels is not good.

Pros

Good pay. Exciting work. Easy if you like to work with your hands and be organized.

Cons

Cannot fail any aspect of training or you will get fired. Company will judge trainees based on what is seen not the work that is done. Tech trainer did not follow basic rules that you learn in the classroom (using orange wire outside, wearing booties when you go into a house etc.) Got fired because i missed 9 and a half points on written test. Pressure sales to customers. Survey the customer takes has to be a 10 out of 10 for dish network. Very competitive work environment, not for team oriented people.
