Pros

Potential for overtime because of massive turn over with company. Learning about luxury brands that can lead to employment elsewhere

Cons

Everything About this company is a con. No holiday pay. harassing management who are spread so thin because company refuses to add on management to fit the growth of stores. Too many politics. If you're interested in feeling like you are going to throw up before work everyday this is for you! The past year has been the worst year of my life. I would never recommend this company to anyone except if you are homeless or facing homelessness and need something desperately. I would never wish on anyone what myself or my colleagues have been through. Marla and Barry clearly don't care and I've never seen greed within a company to this extent. Yes they are growing, creating jobs but the stores can't profit when there's one store every 8 blocks(in NYC). I give it 3-5 years before half the stores close. Management is the biggest joke. If you want to be physically attacked and assaulted while at work by a manager go ahead and work here!!! Oh yes, there was a manager who allegedly assaulted someone and not only has her job, but has been promoted. Shows what type of company this is! I hope Macys steps in and gets rid of these types of people and starts over New because with the managers in place now this business will fail. The turn over is extremely high, because of pay and too much stress. This is not a job that keeps your mind going but a place to sit around and rot because nothing happens. If you're interested in artistry, skincare haircare and the industry in general do not work here because it will make you highly consider never doing this again.

Pros

As I said, my team was great so that was in all honesty the best pro. You get a lot of gratis too (free makeup/skincare). Have lots of fun trainings, and it can be laid back for the most part.

Cons

Way understaffed and expect the sales associate level of work to be manager duties, if theres a maintenance issue don't even expect it to be fixed in a timely manner. Like when the store was without AC in the summer on the hottest days ever. No promotion or growth whatsoever, and the turnover rate is outrageous.
