Pros

The gratis gives an opportunity to become familiar with the products and I like the team and manager I work with.

Cons

As employees of BlueMercury, we only get one percent of the dollar amount in products we sell, and that is only if your store makes the monthly bonus. The District Manager is condescending and never compliments us for our hard work. HR is extremely disorganized and they have lost my mail on more than one occasion, causing a lot of personal problems for me. We are forced to have our makeup, nails, and hair perfected every day which tells me that this company does not believe in equality or individuality. This company only cares about numbers, and they have become so corporate they have stopped caring about the people behind the scenes that work day in and out for them. You are only a number to them, and you're out of a job if you don't sell Marla's overpriced M-61 products. People over profit.

Pros

Nice products at the store

Cons

I only worked at BM for literally 2 days and I was done. That company is a joke. Training consists of reading a giant binder. No actual product training, when I asked I was told "you can read product info on the Blue Mercury website". Sometimes the vendors of some brands come in and give you some info but that's about it. How do you expect your beauty advisors to sell the products if they have no knowledge about the products, and no one is going to do homework and not get paid for it. Everyone that worked there (including the manager) were miserable, they all hated it. The iPads for checking out customers crashed constantly, some customers walked out from frustration. Just a big hot mess!!
