Pros

Literally none at all. Maybe gratis sometimes.

Cons

Terribly unprofessional, shady management from the ground up. I would give this place negative stars if I could. They change your schedule within hours notice, and expect you to accommodate that, yet they have a field day if you change your schedule and let them know in a reasonable time. I remember 30 minutes before the store was supposed to close, Upper management called out of the blue and forced us to keep the store open for another hour past closing. That’s not how it works. You have set hours for a store, and employees have lives and make plans. They don’t let you have 2 days off in a row, and make you feel terrible just for asking. Management/upper management acts like a jealous high school girl, playing obvious favorites, gossiping to/about employees from store to store. Lies blatantly to your face daily.. If you want to be gaslighted everyday, and if you like wanting to throw up before work this is the place for you. They are so insane you will question your own sanity after just a couple months of working there. After I quit, I literally had to take a break from cosmetics for months because of the mental abuse they put me through. I’ve been working in cosmetics 9 years and I’ve NEVER experienced anything as bad BlueMercury… The whole staff usually quits at the same time, so they constantly can’t keep people. I worked alone a lot. They force you to drive all over and work at different locations, because everyone quits so fast, when you just signed up to work at one location. I’m serious, they actually threaten your job if you say no, I just want to work in the store I was hired in. Their HR is an absolute joke, don’t even bother calling, it’s so bad I questioned if they really are HR. You can only call, there’s no HR to actually help you with issues in the store, they aren’t even in the area. I promise you, run far far away from this company. Especially in the Charleston area. Your mental health is not worth working here. I promise you, there will be so many unnecessary problems from management. They would threaten all of our jobs every month, and write us up every month if you are just a little under sales plan. You get so used to write ups in there it doesn’t even phase you anymore. Management/upper management love to take advantage of you if you’re young, or inexperienced in cosmetics because they know you won’t speak up. Absolute bullies. I could go on and on. Zero integrity. Do not work there. Especially not downtown or Mount Pleasant area.
