Pros

Gratis; exposure to multiple brands which provides a broad product knowledge; relaxed dress code; decent hours for retail.

Cons

Low pay; 1% commission on your sales only if the entire store makes it's goal; poor benefits; expected to sell, do shipment, clean, empty trash, clean bathroom/s, book spa appointments, and service clients while working staff at a skeleton crew to minimize payroll.

Not Worth It

Pros

Decent discount, working with luxury product, can be fun if interested in makeup/skincare, learned a decent amount about cosmetics.

Cons

-My manager did not let me take a day off to go to my close friend's funeral after their sudden death unless I confirmed that someone could cover for me. I was not looking for paid bereavement as it was a friend, but my friend and I were the same religion and my manager did not let me observe my religious customs for grieving those who pass away. I was not paid enough to be told I cannot do that. She didn't even offer her condolences. Her response was "okay, when are you coming in?". I do not feel supported. -There are often robberies and other situations that put employees at risk. Again, the management did not ensure that we were all okay after a particularly scary incident. -The policy that you have to find someone yourself to cover for you even for emergencies is wrong and should be changes. Overall terrible policies. -Pay is not good. -Not enough breaks. Only a 30 minute break for working 8-9 hour shifts. -While discount is decent, it could be better. -Toxic work environment where I felt I was walking on eggshells constantly. -No formal training. -Severe lack of communication. Incredible disorganization.
