Pros

Catered lunches Fully stocked kitchens

Cons

Bluevine isn't set up for growth. It's a startup that's been around for more than a decade. Senior leadership is far removed from the day-to-day needs of employees. In all hands last year, the CEO promoted hate speech using words such as "eradicate." I've seen abuse, retaliation, sexism, and more. When these were addressed with HR, the experiences were minimized, victims were gaslit, and nothing was done. Multiple people have said this is not a "safe" environment. Senior leadership decision-making is based on short-term thinking, forcing employees to shift focus every 2-3 weeks with little to no resources. Most teams are understaffed. It's a "do more with less" mentality. This results in overworked employees and burnout. There have been regular layoffs since I started. They've averaged 2 per year. Senior leaders require employees to be "grateful" for having a job and are strongly encouraged to act accordingly. Senior leaders lack trust in employees and leadership. Most (if not all) decisions go through senior leaders only. They forced multiple people to work during their parental leave.

Thank you for leaving your comments regarding your work at Bluevine. Your views on the employee experience and culture are not what we hope for our team members. We take employee complaints seriously and take appropriate steps to investigate and respond. As a current employee, I encourage you to continue to dialogue with your leadership, escalate through our internal processes, or speak directly with your People Business Partner for a conversation to address your concerns. Our leadership team strives to be personally accessible and as transparent as possible with information. This is demonstrated through regular 1:1s and team meetings, fireside chats, and monthly company-wide All Hands meetings, where questions and comments on the company's health and direction are always welcomed. We encourage you to consider these channels as well.

Pros

Good starting pay and benefits. Paid time off is good. Opportunity to come in at the ground floor with lots of opportunities for growth. They send swag, gifts quite often that is amazing.

Cons

Where to start. I got almost zero training and was thrown in the fire so to speak. They have improved training since I started but it still has a long way to go. Frontline agents are taught more on the call handling aspect and not the knowledge and processes. So many spreadsheets to try and keep up with the constant changes it will make your head spin. Disorganized and confusing. Lots and lots of bad client and agent experiences. Lot's of growing pains and constant changes. Lots of issues with internal processes that are just awful for customers. Focus does not seem to be on the customers experience most of the time. Lots of upper management saying they care and want feedback but doesn't feel like its heard or matters when it comes down to it.
