Pros

- Opportunity to take ownership and advance quickly - Fast growing start-up means job responsibilities are dynamic - Exec team is stellar - One of the few start-ups in Silicon Valley with truly strong business fundamentals (industry leading customer retention, strong lifetime value, differentiated customer value prop) .... in theory provides greater job stability - Frequent events for team building - Work life balance is best I've encountered in Silicon Valley - Free food, drinks, and other perks

Cons

- Some growing pains as the business has accelerated 3x year-over-year - Middle management quality is mixed, but generally good - Inverse of the pros above: if you're not good with some ambiguity and changing expectations as the business evolves, BlueVine may not be for you - R&D is in Israel while Sales & Marketing + Headquarters is in Redwood City...can lead to some hiccups

Pros

The people are pretty great! Top notch people! Seriously. I don't know how we've done it with so few talent/hr people, but the people here are GOOD. Sharp. Well at least the team I'm on - but it seems to be the case all throughout. Management is easily approachable. Your thoughts, ideas, and opinions tend to matter. Gym reimbursement. Dogs all over the office - very good dogs. Upper management is very responsible and good. They are thoughtful people. None of that Uber upper management faux paux nonsense. No controversies. No drama. A relatively peaceful bunch. Most importantly- BlueVine recognizes the value every individual brings. I think.

Cons

Not very competitive benefits-wise compared to the rest of the startup world, although the health insurance is relatively decent. Vacation policy is by way of your old school company (aka it SUCKS/it's standard) other companies have Unlimited PTO or discretionary time off, we get, well a rock. 10 days out of the year to keep your sanity together isn't going to cut it BlueVine. The same snacks get old. We did get pickles recently though; that was a nice change up. It's a startup so there are always challenges, problems needing to be solved, lessons to be learned - it's not really a con but it's something that you need to take into consideration. Are you ready for that kind of "stress"? Are problems something you want to solve or are you just a worker bee? BlueVine is not for someone just looking for a job or worker bees. It's a place for people who want to bring something to the table, offer up ideas, and be a part of something with very big potential. It's not for the weak. You'll need to not just be a hard worker, but also smart. Sometimes more than you can handle can be asked of you. But it gets realized and readjusted. The company's culture and values are not spoken about frequently enough. I can't even remember what they are when the question comes up. I know we strive to stick to them but they need to be more in your face - it'll help with understanding of why things are done the way they are and why a certain decision is made.
