Now is not the time to join Booz Allen
Pros
When I worked at Booz Allen, I had a wonderful experience, up until 2025. I had leaders and teammates that were supportive and the potential for career growth felt exponential. It was one of my favorite places to work.
Cons
I was part of a mass layoff event during the U.S. Government Shutdown in October 2025. I would not suggest joining the company at this time, as they are struggling to keep people employed. You may join one month and be gone the next, if you aren't fully billable. Moreover, the company has dramatically changed from being people first to business first - understandably, given the current circumstances and the type of clients the company pursues. I was just shocked by how easily they let go of their principles and did not treat their people well on the way out. Almost all employees feel nervous to be there right now and are fearful of losing their job. I really do hope that one day, Booz Allen can go back to it's former self where they cared about their people. The ratings I am leaving are relevant for today. Pre-2025, I would have given Booz Allen a 4/5.
