Booz has a reputation as a great place to work, and in some areas it is. Problem is, the opportunities and quality of management varies so widely that if you end up with the wrong principal or partner, you better keep your resume polished. There are lots of opportunities to collaborate or share information, but the other party always wants a cut of the action. Forget going to a conference. Plan on driving a lot - over half of the employees work on client site and commute through the worst traffic in the nation. Benefits are only average - vacation is stingy,holodays are below average, tuition payment is below average, but 401-K contributions are above average.

Managers more concerned about acquiring new work, than devoting time to really do it right (I suppose this is the nature of the consulting business though) .
