Beware of TechEx

Pros

The fact that Booz has a bench that will still pay you is a huge benefit. You get assigned a Career Manager and depending on who you get they may or may not be good in helping you find your billable project.

Cons

There is no transparency from leadership. Booz isn't able to manage the contracts well and causes the customer to lose trust with the firm. Booz will convince you take a TechEx course which will put you $5k into debt and have to wait 18 month to be debt free. This is their strategy in maintaining their employees as turnover is high at the firm. The salary is way below market average compared to what other companies pay. When you leave a project and go to the bench to find a new project, you're essentially on your own. There is very little help from your CM. You can post on Yammer and apply internally to find your next project.

Pros

Literally nothing, they haven't done a single thing correct during my time here.

Cons

Where to start? Maybe I could start with how atrocious onboarding the company is. Put simply, nobody cares enough to assist and answer the most basic of questions and you have to figure out the steps by yourself. There is no path to follow, no instructions to read. Just figure it out yourself. Next, Onboarding to a project. So you managed to onboard to the company, nice! Get ready to get completely and utterly ignored by the staff opps department as you read outdated instructions with links to sites and documents no longer working. For an example, once you painstakingly find a project, you then on average have to wait 3-4 MONTHS before you can realistically expect to be onboarded and charge time to the project. Once on the project, don't expect work or tasks to get you through the day, as you won't have access to any of the systems. To get those you need to go back through the staff opps department. At this point you'd be better off sending staff opps your resignation letter as they might actually get around to that by the time you get a promotion at your new company. Next, the people. Everybody Understands how broken the company is, but nobody does anything to fix it. Nobody knows the processes to get anything, and if the little knowledge they do have doesn't work, then you're just screwed. I've spent about a year at the company at this point, my recommendation is that if you get offered a job here go on the zoom to laugh in their face. I wouldn't wish working here upon my worst enemy.

Overworked and Toxic Culture

Pros

Compensation, but that was it.

Cons

The expectation is 50 hours a week, plus travel, plus training and if you don't get your work done because of travel and training, you have to work evenings and weekends.
