Pros

-You get to have Bosch on your resume -You get access to a generous defined contribution program -You get access to a variety of jobs that are not advertised publicly outside of Bosch

Cons

I am not going to relate any anecdotes about the years I spend working for Bosch. I'll simply explain what Bosch did after I resigned from the company. Bosch has a rather generous retirement plan comprising 401k matching as well as a defined contribution plan. If you leave the company before Bosch's contributions have vested, you forfeit the defined contribution plan as well as the matching funds from the 401k. However, personal contributions from one's own paycheck always belong to the employee. After resigning from Bosch, I went to my benefits account to withdraw the funds to roll into another IRA. I was surprised to see a $0 balance. Upon further investigation of the transaction history of the account, I was dismayed to see an internal wire transfer for the sum total of the entire account, encompassing both the matching funds as well as my own personal contributions. Yes, you read that right, Bosch confiscated my own money in addition to their matching funds. Given the recent financial difficulties the company has faced, I suppose I should not be surprised at their behavior. I am certainly not hurt by it. I was never under the impression they were invested in me as a human being during the time I worked there. Should you work for Bosch, you shouldn't either.
