Pros

Bose is a challenging environment with no shortage of project work to keep busy. There are some great employees that still hold on to the fabric of what made the company great under Dr. Bose. The company has a great history from its beginning at MIT. Time will tell if it can become innovative enough to prosper in the future.

Cons

The company had some really great years. It has seen its innovation slow and fall behind the competition. The company has been going through a significant restructuring in the last two years with the assistance of Bain Consulting. The company chose to sell its manufacturing plants to a major contract manufacturing firm. All of this with the goal of becoming more nimble and faster to market. Instead, product is taking longer to come to market and the stress of the restructuring has shredded the fabric of what made the company a great place to work. I stress to any job seekers to do your homework. Some of the reviews prior to mine seem either fake or created by the retail store employees that are insulated from the corporate environment. I enjoyed many good years with the company but knew it was time to retire early. I fear they may not be able to attract the right talent to lead Bose in a highly competitive environment.

Pros

Was a great place at one time. No pros anymore.

Cons

Worked there for ten years, when DR. Bose was alive it was a great place to work. After he passed they are all about the bottom line. Shipped american jobs to the Philippines for cheap labor. Never announced publicly that most of tech support was moving out of the country. Also, they now fill glassdoor with fake reviews to try and keep their image rating positive. Culture is toxic, people looking over their shoulder wondering if they are next to be let go. People training replacements. So much negativity. Just stay away, this company is on the decline.

Pros

Great group of people to work with that really stood behind the products. Easy work/life balance and good benefits.

Cons

Call center just got outsourced to the Philippines. I truly feel sorry for our customers who wait to speak with someone in the US for help, and that opportunity is being taken away from them.
