Pros

Discounts on Bose products, there are some good benefits available to employees. great co workers, that's what will be missed the most. That's about it.

Cons

Bose has shifted all manufacturing over seas, and since then, the quality of their products has gone way down. They are not innovating anything new, all their "new" products are 3 to 4 years behind the curve. Most of the stuff comes out buggy, and or with known defects. Anybody have a Solo system that doesn't power on? Just this week, Bose began laying off their global call center, technical support and sales reps are being let go in about 30 man groups every 2 weeks so as not to enact the WARN act. By doing this, Bose does not have to tell the town and state of the layoffs, and does not need to provide 2 weeks per year worked severance packages. They decided to ship all our jobs over seas to a call center in the Philippines, where they are paying each worker 70 dollars a week. That "great" Bose service you have come to expect when calling for help,... gone. Those guys over there have absolutely no idea what they are doing, they are clueless, the customers know more about the product then they do. Bose customers are now screwed. The people that are left in the U.S. call center that haven't been let go as of yet completely don't care anymore. There is absolutely no over site at the call center, nobody is doing anything. All the people that matter will be gone by 7/29/16. Bose doesn't care about it's workers, they don't care about their customers, and they no longer care about the core values and service this company was built on. I'm embarrassed at what they have become, all they care about is the almighty dollar.

Pros

Dr Bose built an incredible company which recently celebrated its 50 year anniversary. Guiding principles and values lead the success of the company throughout these years and was felt throughout the company at all levels. 401k, pension plan, competitive benefits in an environment where people felt valued, challenged, the feeling of accomplishment, and pride at all levels.

Cons

This isn't the Bose employees fell in love with. For many employees who invested time, years, and decades of loyalty and who put their trust in a private company which they felt aligned with their values its a sad time and they are all now facing a big dilemma. Dr Bose passed away. Is this the same company? And are the values and guiding principles now something on Bose.com as merely a reminder of the company that once was? It's sort of like a bad breakup where everything you thought about a person, has been a lie. It's not the persons fault though...Dr Bose built an incredible company and his legacy lives in everyone who works for HIS COMPANY. In Dr Bose passing, the legacy decision makers were faced with power, fame, and pressure from outside influences.... and the Bose that once was put up to the test. At this time it appears...the legacy team can't handle it, values have been challenged and we are all forgetting what made the company great. When I say they forget who they were, this isn't about marketing direction, change, or being more relevant as everyone felt the company needed to go. What I mean is, throwing the values in the trash...innovation, respect, value in the customer (including employees), integrity, passion, excellence, to be trumped by POLITICS and THE BOYS CLUB. Politically driven realignments in Senior, and middle management have further validated where the company is headed. Everyone is left guessing....why were so many bad managers who have never delivered any sort of profit or success promoted? And why were the contributors let go? None of it makes sense to anyone.
