      Too Many Layoffs

      Pros

      I supported a very challenging team and worked with some of the best people. The flexible hours, PTO, and educational support were very helpful in continuing to grow in my field.

      Cons

      After the continuous rounds of layoffs began, I was often left with little or no work to do because everyone was concerned about having the technical writer do some of what was perceived as "their position".

      The technical staff of BSC is top-notch. Their dedication and experience is comparable or exceeds that of other medical device companies.

      Cons

      The current business environment within BSC is characterized by the continuing employment uncertainties. BSC is not an innovator from within. It is a company the simply purchases innovation from others and then applies its bundensome internal procedures to attempt to develop something for commercialization. This speaks volumes to the top-notch , dediated and experienced technical staff remaining at BSC.
