      Pros

      Great people in middle management. They are willing to develop people, and put an emphasis on promoting internally. Overall a great work environment.

      Cons

      Lower margins for their products have lead to a series of layoffs. The company is big and bureaucratic, so they are trying to lean-out the organization. I saw 4 significant lay offs while there. They seem to be shifting to acquisitions rather that develop new technology internally.

      Pros

      Many bright people, trying to do the right thing. Recent leadership changes may signal progress. Some good new hires recently may drive growth, for example in Asia Pacific.

      Cons

      History of leadership changes has eroded confidence. Challenging markets in the two largest businesses (interventional cardiology and cardiac rhythm management).

      Pros

      Good job experience and benefits. Company has purchased interesting products that benefit patient care and safety. Salary is in line with competition, along with benefits.

      Cons

      Sales continue to trend downward in the largest segments of the business. There is still a need to trim more employees. This limits career advancement and many leave every year to obtain higher level jobs at competitors. Currently too much emphasis in bringing inexperienced people on board to save money. There is a need to retain experienced employees.
