      Huge company changes

      Pros

      You get to contribute directly to helping sick people and their doctors every day. There realy is a focus on the patient and the importance of what we all do to save/improve lives. Hearing from patients directly is very impressive.

      Cons

      The company is going through a very big transition - selling divisons and a major outsourcing initiative that will send hundreds of jobs to India and China. Senior management is adopting a bunker mentality - keep your head down. There are some very good senior managers if you are lucky enough to get one. The IT support is "worst in class". Out systems are way, way behind the times.

      Pros

      Cutting edge technology. Being a part of healthcare. Supporting physicians and nurses. Decent work/life balance. Good pay. Generally good people working there.

      Cons

      Senior management doesn't seem to care much about employees, except salesforce. Marketing definitely takes a back seat to sales. While medical technology is cutting edge, everything else moves at a snail's pace. Bad location.

      Pros

      Good products that save lives. Good place to learn how to think on your feet, and to gain broad experience.

      Cons

      Culture of fear and intimidation. High stress. Uncaring atmosphere. Limited career development , succession planning or internal promotions except for the "chosen few". Poor work/family balance, then little recognition for your sacrifices. Unfortunately, not the great place to work it used to be...
