Pros

Company values Patient Focus CEO

Cons

Ageism - if you are over 45, they do not value you or your contributions any longer; you can still stay employed, but all promotions and opportunities will go to the 35-year-olds

Pros

My time there started out well as I was left to be able to do my work as I saw was best, which I did just fine doing. I received very reasonable pay and benefits. I did learn alot and the position help improve my abilities and self esteem.

Cons

As the company expanded into my area they grew much more Nit Picky and controlling about how I do my job. It was very upsetting and stressful. The people in my office were not overly pleasant to be around either. I was forced to come into the office half time after being 100% productive and efficient being exclusively from home for over 2 years due to Covid. Supervisor was reasonable, but hands were tied on many things. I also struggled to be able to access my find pay stub, something that should be automatically mailed with any pay day that takes place after my last day on the job.

Pros

Since joining Boston Scientific over two years ago as a data scientist, I've been continually pleasantly surprised by the culture: at every turn my ideas are heard; innovation is encouraged, appreciated, and supported; employees can bring their full selves; and the sense and presence of community is real. I'm truly excited for this company's future, and for my career at Boston Scientific.

Cons

Boston Scientific is large company, and change can be slow. In addition, this size and the general structure that has resulted from growth through acquisitions means that silos can abound. It takes a willingness to reach out to others, effort to spread ideas, and engagement of the rich communities of practice and employee resource groups to drive important change. Fortunately, the company culture is such that when you do this, you will be heard, and you will be empowered to continue.
