Pros

Great environment and educational rationale. Very helpful to students from all perspectives. Challenging, competitive, a perfect match for anyone that is willing to perform highly.

Cons

Grade deflation is probably the biggest disadvantage of Boston University. Students have to struggle more than necessary to receive a mediocre grade, which in truth they deserve. It depends on the character of each person, but many give up because mediocre students are reflected by extremely bad grades.

Pros

Good school in the middle of Boston. Great lectures, very good lab space. Experienced and helpful PIs and/or Professors.

Cons

Rather bad maintenance of chemical characterization instruments, especially NMR. Lacking engagement in the benefits for foreign researchers, bringing their own funding (no eligibility) .
