Used to be great, culture and benefits in decline

Pros

- Company culture & values were previously huge pro's but that's now rapidly declining - Lot of smart, supportive teammates within the company depending on the team - Easygoing, stable work if you are just looking to coast

Cons

- A previously great company culture is in a major decline. Values and culture are no longer taken seriously and the company mainly cares about the bottom line. Morale seems to be getting worse & a lot of tenured employees are leaving the company because of this. This is pretty obvious based on just overall sentiment internally and even the other reviews on here. - Growth is and has always been single-digits, leadership always uses "FX Headwinds" as an excuse. Stock pretty much never goes up despite major investments in stock buybacks. If/when growth doesn't re-accelerate with this AI boom and marketing then it likely never will. - No 401k match. Benefits consistently being removed - Pay is definitely lower than other comparable software/tech companies. - Mediocre merit & equity increases. Even if you get merit or promo, the increase isn't even effective until August when it happens in April. If you stay a long time you'll hit a cliff and be way under band. - CEO micromanages and constantly chasing the next shiny object instead of keeping a focused growth strategy (see Box Relay, Box AI, Box Sign, I could go on for a while) - RTO is steadily increasing, likely 4 days this year and every day the next. Difficult to be remote if you're a new joiner - If you're a people manager, expect any attrition or backfill to go to Warsaw. The time zone differences and presence in Warsaw will give you lots of early or late meetings too. - Box pinches pennies, expect cost-cutting measures across your team frequently - A lot of Boxers are just coasting and here to cash a check, which can make it difficult to get things done or progress if you actually take your work and career progression seriously

Pros

Decent product and some of the people are good. Definitely has the Silicon Valley feel

Cons

The people that were just promoted internally to run sales, especially the leader in enterprise, are now going to finally bring this company down. Very heavy micro management, bully environment, tons of HR violations, and horrible territories

Pros

Great compensation, flexible work schedule, exciting projects, bright, cooperative engineers.

Cons

Over the last few years Box has successfully brought in some very strong people with vast technical/leadership experience. These were a head above existing middle managers. Respect for leadership dwindled, and upper management reacted by promoting the managers who have lost backing of their more senior reports up the corporate ladder, away from dealing with actual project and developers where they are doing even more damage.
