Pros

Excellent company culture. Strongly values diversity in all forms. High percentage of female store managers in my district. Lots of communication with higher-ups. Company recently increased minimum starting wage for sales associates and expanded insurance benefits to all members of management, full time and part time. Felt very cared for during the pandemic. Strong visual merchandising presentation. Solid advancement and relocation opportunities. Recently shifted focus in a big way to employee recognition and celebrating successes and improving the internal and external experience. Overall an awesome place to work.

Cons

Pay scales are still not as competitive with the market as they should be. Recent distribution issues have presented a challenge in inventory levels post-pandemic. Sometimes a little too slow hopping on product/license trends.

Pros

Super fun merchandise and a progressive company that cares about social issues. Cool Vibes and customers are usually nice.

Cons

Very low pay and minimum hours for associates. The customers who have a loyalty account get better discounts than the employees (but if an employee has a loyalty account it’s considered stealing). The expectations for KPIs are exceedingly high with constantly changing goal posts. You start to do well and reach your goals and they push it higher and higher and higher til it’s impossible to reach and you leave feeling discouraged and like a failure even if your store is performing the best it ever has. Then they mount on the number of metrics you must reach, many of which are out of your control. If a customer leaves a bad review about the mall (not the store) then your grade is still docked.
