Corporate Conglomerate Culture bringing this fine company down

Pros

Good pay for those who started when the company was great (6+ years ago) or if you are a College Graduate (Marquette preferred). Clean environment. Decent benefits.

Cons

Every decision is made looking at short term bottom line. They outsourced so much (Manufacturing, Help Desk, Finance) overseas - Mexico, China, Slovakia, Malaysia and India. Cheapened quality of new and existing products. Way too much management, not enough workers. Beaurocracy strangling quality and real change. Management says all the right words (buzz words) and make it sound like they are doing the right things, but actions speak louder than words - those who talk a good game and give numbers management want to hear go far but those who request real improvements that cost money that won't be made back in a year or less are ignored or belittled.

Pros

nice people to work with generally, that is. specifically, you need to be wary of people with "other intentions/motives", though.

Cons

1. not much room for growth. 2. Management has its own biases and can be very subjective and judgmental.

Good place to work in good economy

Pros

Employee friendly environment, good benefits, good culture. Work-life balance is pretty good in most areas. Company leadership is quick to respond to financial downturns (which is positive for overall company bottom line, but not so positive to employees)

Cons

Most on leadership team have come up through the ranks (which is positive), but it also means many have no frame of reference outside of the Brady culture. In bad economy there is a layoff almost every year.
